A Brief profile of Mr. Mohato Seleke.

  • The 41-year-old Mr Mohato Seleke 13 years private sector experience as a consultant and entrepreneur.
  • For about 13 years, he has undertaken numerous consulting assignments for both local and international organizations on technology integration, commercial agriculture, international trade, regional integration, and corporate finance advisory services. These include UNDP, CARE, Commonwealth, SACU, etc
  • Mr Seleke graduated with a BSc (Mathematics and Statistics) from the National University of Lesotho. He later enrolled with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries for various foundation level courses. He also holds a Master’s of Business Administration(MBA) with the University of the Free State.Mr Seleke completed advanced training in Operations Management and Logistics with the same university.
  • His passion is on technology, mathematical modeling, strategy and corporate finance.

Mr. Seleke was introduced to the LNDC staff by the Hon: Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon Tefo Mapesela on the 4th December 2017. The Hon Minister of Trade and Industry, indicated that Mr. Seleke was deemed the best candidate by the selection panel to lead the Lesotho National Development Corporation in a manner it was intended to in its original mandate.

The Minister of Trade and Industry Hon; Tefo Mapesela, further indicated that the he as a Minister will not interfere in the work of the Chief Executive Officer nor the LNDC Board of Directors work, as this hinders the Corporation’s ability to fulfill its mandate.

Mr. Mohato Seleke thanked the Hon Minister of Trade and Industry and insured the LNDC staff and Management that he was going to work hand in hand with them to ensure the Corporation attains its primary purpose which is to initiate, promote and facilitate the development of manufacturing and processing industries, mining and commerce in a manner calculated to raise the level of income and employment in Lesotho.

Mr. Seleke was welcomed by the Caretaker Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Nthabiseng Posholi who promised the new Chief Executive Officer that the staff and management he is about to lead are the best in their respective fields and will support him in rolling out his vision for the Corporation.

The LNDC welcomes the new Chief Executive Officer as the new captain of this mighty Lesotho ship and hopes he shall steer her in its rightful direction.
